Utah cottage food at a glance
Utah has no revenue cap for cottage food sales.
Utah has two paths. Traditional Cottage Food Law (2007): $50,000/year cap, food handler permit required, home inspection required. Home Consumption/Homemade Food Act (Food Freedom, HB 181, 2018): no cap, no food safety course, no inspection, no permit. Both: non-TCS foods. Poultry allowed if slaughtering fewer than 1,000 birds/year.
